Hélène Ganichaud is the deputy head of the Specialist Factual Unit at ARTE France. She commissions natural history, history science, adventure and human interest programmes. Before that, she was a London-based freelance producer, writer and director for more than 10 years working mostly for the BBC in-house specialist factual unit.  Her credits include: 700 Sharks for Arte and National Geographic, Lost Kingdom of the Black Pharaohs for Arte, Channel 4 and Discovery Science, Forces of Nature for BBC1, Wonders of life; Oceans and Trust Me I’m A Doctor  for BBC2, Animal Fight Night for National Geographic and Supersized Earth for Discovery.
