Paola Bouley

Associate Director - Dept. of Conservation Gorongosa National Park
Paola Bouley is Associate Director of Conservation in Gorongosa National Park, Mozambique. As a National Geographic Explorer since 2013, she leads teams of wildlife veterinarians and rangers in research and strategic initiatives focused on the post-war rewilding of the Gorongosa-Marromeu Ecosystem. Paola’s teams are focused on “boots-on-the-ground” recovery of some of Africa’s most imperiled species such as lions, leopards, painted wolves and pangolins. These projects support the training and mentorship of the 1st Mozambican women wildlife veterinarians and rangers to ever work hands-on with these imperiled species and a new generation of dedicated conservationists to support one of Africa’s most biodiverse nations.
