Executive Director
Pragna Parsotam-Kok is a film and television producer and production manager. She has a passion for the documentary genre with a focus on conservation, natural history, social justice and call to action filmmaking. With a Bachelors Degree in Social Science (majoring in Culture, Communication & Media Studies as well as Drama & Performance Studies), Pragna focuses her time on the research and development phase of filmmaking as well as budgeting, financing and producing. Pragna is passionate about women empowerment and particularly women in film. She has served on the Council of the Writers’ Guild of South Africa. Her forte into wildlife began when producing the edu-tainment conservation 13-part TV series titled Code Green which was broadcast on SABC 1. She has won an award for Best Documentary Short for the film “Behind the Monologue” at the 2018 Simon Sabela Awards. Other than her projects in development and production, currently Pragna is determined to storytelling landscape in the nature, environment, wildlife and conservation filmmaking genre and growing the African industry and serves as founder and Congress Director of the Nature Environment & Wildlife Filmmakers Congress. A platform designed to create a path to conservation through film and aims to discover the next generation of nature, environment and wildlife Filmmakers.  Pragna is also the recipient of the KZN Film Commission Documentary Slate where she will producing films under the theme of “Reclaiming our Natural Heritage”.
