Tamara Merino

Documentary Photographer and Visual storyteller
Tamara Merino is a documentary photographer and visual storyteller based in Chile focusing on human and socio-cultural issues, identity, and subterranean communities. Her work has been published in multiple online and print publications worldwide including National Geographic, The New York Times, and The Washington Post, among others. Merino is this year’s Magnum Foundation Inge Morath winner. Other honors include being selected for the World Press Photo Latin America Masterclass, the New York Times Portfolio Review, PDN’s 30, World Press Photo’s 6x6 Global Talent Program, 30 under 30 women photographers and as an IWMF fellow. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at Photoville and the World Press Photo exhibit in the U.S., Germany, and Myanmar. Merino teaches workshops of Documentary & Storytelling photography including for National Geographic Learning.
